Newlands House

Location: Newlands
Status: Built
Year: 2002

Extensions to the rear of an historic home in Newlands, facing onto a river. The large industrial pattern windows make best use of South light to illuminate the large kitchen area. The kitchen was designed for cookery demonstrations and so is slightly sunken below the main living level. The riverine forest provides a backdrop to the kitchen activities.
